Wine Fest 2022 @ The Fives Plaza, Playa del Carmen

On December 10th, The Fives Plaza once again pulled off another outstanding Wine Fest. Foodies and wine lovers came together from all over to pay homage to the almighty grape for the eighth edition at this stunning five-star resort. This was my second time attending with my mother and this year hubby chose to join us too. Now, after a wildly successful Wine Fest 2022 we have decided to make this a yearly tradition.

Why You Should Go to the Annual Wine Fest @ The Fives

Whether you are a wine connoisseur, a wine enthusiast or foodie, wine festivals are a lot of FUN! Aside from an abundance of different wines to sample, the wine fest at The Fives has a huge offering of tantalizing food as well. I highly recommend a visit to the “cheese and charcuterie” station which was by far the most popular food stand that night. And for those who just aren’t “into” wine there is always a booth that has craft beer and other spirits like gin or mezcal to whet your whistle.

Aside from Wine & Food, What Else?

Expect first class entertainment whenever you go to an event at The Fives. This year there was a live jazz & blues ensemble in addition to a band that played all the current hits as well as a DJ that kept the dance floor packed. Plus, there was a fire performance, acrobatic dancers and a spectacular firework show to cap off the night. What’s more Wine Fest 2022 had ample seating and tables available for its guests this year. A welcome addition to be sure!

Wine Fest Tips

Here are my top tips to get the most out of Wine Fest 2023 at The Fives:

1. Arrive early. We always arrive 20 minutes before the event starts. Lines are shorter earlier on and you can pick out a table for you and your group.
2. Pace yourself. There is a wide array of wine to sample. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
3. Make sure you eat enough which is never a problem at this event 😉
4. Don’t drink and drive. Stay at The Fives Hotel or at another hotel close-by or take a taxi home.
5. Go with people you enjoy eating and drinking with since this event lasts several hours. We arrived at 5:40 p.m. and stayed until the end at 11 p.m.

PRO TIP:

Take advantage of the pre-sale price. We paid 3570 pesos ($180 USD) for 3 people for this incredibly big bang for your buck event.
